Roses and leaves - thread crochet love

Though it takes much time, my all time favorite is to indulge in the intricacies of thin threads. As I weave creating patterns, making littles laces and joining them to form larger shapes.

Talking of time - this is one such design where one complete square with 4 petals and 1 rose takes close to 5 hours. And joining this with another such square takes another hour. So if I tell you, here is a tablecloth consisting of 12 such squares, do the math :)

Then you wonder all the patience artists like me have to create this masterpiece. Well I would call it passion not patience. When you love what you do, time does not count. I can spend my lifetime doing this again and again. At the end I just look and adore and showoff and fill my heart with such beauties my hands were able to create.

Flower crochet - Video Pattern

I have been working on this video for a few months now. For lack of time and being a first timer at editing videos, this was a challenge. I found this pattern for a flower motif very interesting and I'm planning to make a handbag by joining several of these motifs. But I'm not sure if that would ever be possible. Check the video below explaining how this crochet flower is made.

Now to what I did during the week - Started with white shoe and added a butterfly in between and then rolled it with some blue and finished it with some blue lace work.

And after this begins my round of making chirstmasy stuff.

A lovely pair of baby boots cowboy style :) in pretty yellow. Cowboys and yellow? I usually imagine them in browns but my little one breaks all rules see. So its in yellow for the little feet

Hand pouch - Thief safe

Its been like 2 weeks now that I lost my wallet. I was in an overcrowded bus. Finding it difficult to hold my wallet, I decided to keep it in a cover. Little did I know someone would just tear the plastic cover and easily access my wallet. I lost it ... I just lost it :(
But then I was determined to make something that I would be able to hold safely in a crowded bus. After days of designing its finished- my new crocheted wallet. And to add to the look I added an African flower and secured it with the zipper. Yay I just love love love that I can simply hold my new wallet with few fingers while doing the balancing act holding rods inside a bus.

This one is in blue and a gift to my mom. I have a few made in yellow, red, grey, violet and brown. Contact me if you need one.

orangish Baby beanie - Free Pattern online

Lots! to post. Starting with this one. Took me two days to make, confused fingers managing 3 colors of yarn, back ache, learning new ways to manage and a constant baby smiling - all these kept me until this little cap was done. Finally I was successful in taking this pic yay! Ultimately here I am writing a post after a loooooooooong time :)

Details: This cap fits 3-6 months baby. Pattern can be changed to fit a new born to a year or more may be.
Used a 4mm crochet hook
4 ply yarn. 3 colors (Light brown, Orange and white)

Baby had a little frock - Free Pattern Online

I sweared by 'one post every month'. But could not keep it up. I am going to take the oath again as I am getting quiet a few requests from my friends. So here it goes.

My husband was showing me some sweet little baptism dresses. That reminded me of a crochet frock I had made. The simple dress used just two types of stitches a SC and Solomon's knot. This I made watching a video, guess I found it on youtube.
I have stored it for the time being, but in time will add some satin lining and ribbons, may be a little flower or butterfly.

The size of the dress is just perfect for a newborn :)

Btw, I think these organza flowers would make a excellent embellishment.

Woolen project 2 - Cap

And here comes my knitting project 2. I always wanted to learn making hats the vintage types, but simply gave up considering all the complexities involved. But now I'm back with my interests, just that I'm replacing making hats with caps.

Big deal!! right - I know :)

And that is the first cap I have knit. Using knit and purl. First few rows have the rib stitch, then goes the seed stitch followed by numerous rows of garter stitch with two rows of seed stitches (repeated 4 times) in between the garter stitches for the design. That's the pattern without the measurement and no.of cast-on's as such.
Also I have not worked on a circle. This is simply worked flat and joined at the end.

I'm off to experimenting some new caps now. But wait! that's not going to be with the knitting needles, but crochet needles. I have been waiting for these needles to arrive and finally they are here. So excited that I could not stop taking these pics., Check out my new collection.

Woolen project 1 - mini Stole

The weather is slowly turning cold.

Its cloudy and ready to pour

A hot tea and something warm to wear,

Pitter patter raindrops so big so bold.

Let me share something warm I made. My first wollen project - A small stole, just enough to cover my neck. Its around 23 inches long.

I casted on 30 stiches to start, but that you can choose depending on the width of the stole you want to make. Just ensure that the number of stitches is an even number. Its the most simple and a quick stole to make.

Pattern:
Row 1- knit, yarn over twice (follow this till the end of the row, ending with a knit)
Row 2 & 3 - knit
Follow the two steps to the desired length.

Simple isnt it.

And yes I can use it as a scarf too. Pretty na!

I used gimp for the image makeover, I'm just a beginner, so the pic looks a little weird.
